Monday 30 September

  • 13:30 – 14.15 UTC: Attendee introductions: get to know your fellow members
  • 14:30 – 15:15 UTC: Presentation from Xinhua (China) about their standards for use of AI in news production
  • 15:15 – 16:00 UTC: Photo Metadata Working Group update
  • 16:30 – 17:15 UTC: Video Metadata Working Group update
  • 17:15 – 18:00 UTC: Invited speaker from Axel Springer talking about using IPTC standards to develop their in-house VOD platform

Tuesday 1 October

  • 13:00 – 13:30 UTC: NewsCodes Working Group update
  • 13:30 – 14:15 UTC: NewsML-G2 Working Group update
  • 14:30 – 15:15 UTC: European Broadcasting Union (EBU) presenting an update on the TEMS (Trusted European Media Data Space) project
  • 15:15 – 16:00 UTC: Sports Content Working Group update
  • 16:30 – 17:15 UTC: Liaison partner DPP presenting the DPP Live Production Exchange (LPX) project, based in ninjs, featuring representatives from Reuters, CNN and Arqiva
  • 17:15 – 18:00 UTC: News in JSON (ninjs) Working Group update

Wednesday 2 October

  • 13:00 – 14:30 UTC: IPTC 2024 Annual General Meeting
    • Election of IPTC Board of Directors and Chair
    • Approval of budget for 2025
    • Updates from the Managing Director and Chair of the Board of Directors
  • 14:30 – 15:15 UTC: IPTC Autumn 2024 Standards Committee meeting
    • Votes on new versions of NewsML-G2, ninjs and IPTC Sport Schema (to be confirmed)
  • 15:15 – 16:00 UTC: Liaison partner Global Media Registry presenting the ISO IWA 44 project creating a “Unique Media Identifier (UMId)” identifying distribution channels and brands
  • 16:30 – 18:00 UTC: IPTC October 2024 Media Provenance Committee meeting
    • Including updates from Media Provenance working groups:
      • Provenance Governance Working Group
      • Provenance Best Practices and Implementation Working Group
      • Provenance Advocacy and Education Working Group
    • Also including a presentation from CBC / Radio Canada on their C2PA implementation
